For Jiddu Krishnamurti

Uma, the wisdom that hath eaten up my mind
and rid me of the sense of me and my
(Tayumanavar)

I became a blue amorphous mass;
I merged awhile with those I passed,
Eddies in a river of flame,
Emerged renewed; from furling depths I came,
Floating into a glowing sea,
To drown beneath the dark and alien skies,
And I had to open my eyes
To break loose at last
And recover the me of me.

The necessity to meditate
Implies there was a time
Before and will be after;
If we all lived in an alpha state,
The wars would all adjourn for class,
And church for children's laughter.
