Male - Hawk

MESSENGER
Clear-sightedness; being observant. Far-memory, or recalling past lives. A message from spirit; omens and dreams. Over-coming problems. Taking advantage of an opportunity. The cry of a hawk in a meditation is a warning of upcoming situations that will require boldness and decisiveness. Courage, defense, wisdom, illumination, new life, creativity, truth, experience. Getting a larger over-view so you can make better decisions.

Soaring, gliding, wind current riding,
Hawk of wisdom, creativity.

Female - Buffalo

PRAYER & ABUNDANCE
Social life, fertility, courage, abundance, prosperity, knowledge, sharing, work, challenge, survival. Visions of a buffalo show that prayers are heard, reminding you that nothing is achieved without the help of spirit. Formulating plans that will benefit you.

Rumbling like thunder o'er the prairie,
Great herds of abundance, share with man,
I need your knowledge to meet life's challenges,

The Give-Away Eagle. Symbol that a gift is coming. Asking for helpful gifts and blessings from the Gods.

CLEANSING
Water Medicine - A symbol of initiation and transformation. Cleaning out negativities and distractions, and replacing them with positive energy. Joy in a new cycle of life. Being reborn after a period of seeming- death, when undergoing an initiation of transformation. Beginning a new life cycle by dispensing with negative thoughts and deeds.

Of new life and new beginning,
A time of wonder and of joy,
A time of rebirth and of Light.
Like the tiny frog in Spring renewing,
I joyfully face my new beginning.
I boldly stand upon the threshold,

TEACHER
Cunning, escaping hunters, ability to pass by dangers invisibly, outwitting those who wish you harm, fighting when necessary. Sometimes an astral wolf will lead you to a spiritual teacher. Wisdom, hunting and seeking, magick, dreams, introspection, intuition, listening, death and rebirth, transformation. Strong protection. Spiritual guidance in dreams and meditations.

Concentrating your energies into a job that needs doing. Being persistent. Using available resources to make your life more pleasant. Team work, sense of achievement. Have alternative solutions planned. For harmony in group work. To get a job.

Patience, stamina, planning. Working with a group. Planning and building with a plan in your life. Energy and determination needed to complete work. Building and storing energy for a later project.

Revenge, dark magick, cunning, stealth, ingenuity. The temptation to look for hidden reasons behind everything. Revenge against evil. CHANT

My personal comments about Life Pathyway Spreads: A life spread can only be done once. Other animals may come and go throughout your life but the three cards drawn in a life spread will never change. And, remember ... as there is only "Now", our Past and Future is also in our "Now or Present." Think of the word "Present", which is like a gift, what we co-create in our Now becomes our future. It is a gift, a present! Our present!!!

A NOTE ABOUT RAVEN/CORVUS MEDICINE
Years ago this animal remained in a 'contrary' position for me until such time as could be rectified. When a card is drawn in the inverted, reverse, or contrary position, it does not necessarily connote a bad omen; instead, the questioner reads the reversal of meaning within the cards. In the case of the Raven, my goal to meditate, pray and follow the Red Road could go astray. Contrary Raven says I must be more attune to surrounding energies and focus much more on trusting my higher guidance. After this trial period ended I realized greater awareness, humility, and respect for God in all things.

Using intuition to find new ideas and solutions. Seeking a teacher within by going into the silence. If seen in meditation, you will be guarded from approaching danger and threats. Protection. Finding out the truth.

DIVERSION Finding yourself in a corner and creating a diversion. Dealing with the unexpected; planning strategies for protection. Are you playing 'possum and not dealing with distasteful situations? Wisdom for getting out of distasteful or dangerous situations, relationships.

That reacts from instinct,

This time I will not run and hide
I will not go to old, familiar places for the comforts they can bring.
This time I'll stretch my legs and step beyond the marks I made before -
on unsure feet that trust the earth remains and will support a trembling soul.
This time I'll bring all I have learned - and spread it out upon the mountainside.
What blows away I'll never need again.
All that remains I'll gather up - a precious bundle ready to be planted in this Spring.
Renewal Time - A time to turn my Spirit Face to Father Sun
and hold the warming glow inside my soul,
