MIRRORING RELATIONSHIPS

Mirroring relationships ... my previous version on this topic was filled with tremendous contradictions. Subsequent to the writing the first version of this article, I have traveled further along my own spiritual path to find I am starting over. Well, not exactly. Actually the true words are "starting fresh" or as one of my favorite authors, Sark, would say, "living succulently."
Looking back I discovered that being in a mirroring-type relationship merely shows you all the things you, or your ego-self, all the things you do not like, that you believe are not a part of who you believe you are. This can be scary until you realize the true meaning of fear ... False Evidence Appearing Real. When you see fear for what it is, it is no longer important and you become self-empowered.
Sometimes, we encounter mates or partners who reflect us so strongly that we may begin feeling unstable, unsure, unhappy. When this occurs, first you must realize it is part of your own growth process. Look deeply at what kind of emotions are surfacing. Don't be afraid or ashamed to look inside. If and when you look therein you will find the source of your own pain, but also the great beauty and growth emerge like a glorious, budding rose.
I am forever thankful for each of my past and present relationships. Each one has taught me, shown me, and developed me into who I am today. So, look to all these experiences in your own life with a compassion and accept the gifts each offers; the precious jewels adorning your soul.
Self-worth. Now why would I bring up this topic in an article about mirroring relationships? Good question. The greatest possible outcome from any relationship, be they of mirroring kind or not, is to learn something positive so that we can walk away, to nurture and grow our precious self-worth. When we can do that objectively, own the responsibility for our actions, beliefs, and transmute them all into compassion and love, we will be "starting fresh."
Starting fresh in the light of our highest esteem, our glorious self-worth. For we are All That Is. And everything we do ... is an experience .... we are a continual circle of energy cycling through experiences ... energy experiencing energy experiencing energy.
Take heart, trust yourself. Trust that inner voice in the silence and hold onto your own self-worth, nurture the parts of you that lie in the illusion of darkness, hold them like dear little babes to your breast. Give yourself permission to love yourself fully. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
